R500 receiver

Got a good deal on that one and bought it. I’ll try it out and report here.

I recall having had a quick discussion here at the forum and Massimo was saying he never had any specimen of that series but, given it’s a 1984 production, odds are high it’s a full CCI device. Obviously I won’t be able to confirm whether it is so, but I’ll report my impressions as to how it sounds.

It has both DIN and RCA phono inputs but no RCA for CD or Tuner/Tape.

Anyone happen to have a user manual for this one? Can’t seem to be able to find one on the web. Could you please share - thanks!

One of the reasons I wanted to take a look at the manual is that I read somewhere that it has loudness on all the time - not sure if it’s correct?! There’s no LIN button to start with…

Not much to report here, with my Telefunken TL800 the R500 just seemed a little boomy on the bass, but with 850ap, in a smaller room, it did OK. I still can't figure out whether it has Loudness "built in"...

Will listen more to it in due course.
