Monolith

Ciao a tutti!

For some reason the forum wouldn’t let me search for “monolith”, it says it’s too popular a word and would return thousands items….

There are Monolith 80 on sale locally for a reasonable price and I was wondering whether it’s worth a try. Obviously, what drives me is nothing but curiosity, but I also wouldn’t want to spend money for nothing….

Hence, my questions:
- are Monolith full CCI?
- is the 80 model good and for room which size, and how best to install them in terms of distance off the back wall?
- on the site, I know there are a few words about the series as a whole (again, not able to find anything on the forum on this…) but what I found interesting is that there’s something about Monolith 90 being phase aligned? These are on sale here as well albeit a lot more expensive.

Non ho mai avuto le monolith 80 ma non ho dubbi sul fatto che possa essere una valida scelta. la collocazione non dovrebbe divergere da quella di una Aktiv 50. Discorso particolare invece quello della monolith 90 che era l'unica presentata con un possibile allineamento di fase. Sarebbe interessante misurare la risposta in fase ed in frequenza di questo modello per capire fino a che punto fosse questo un effettivo intervento in tale senso o una scelta dettata da motivi pubblicitari. Rimane il limite proprio dell'emissione non MTM ma se dovesse risultare un diffusore in fase potrebbe comunque essere una scelta interessante. Purtroppo in Italia non se ne trovano.

Di monolith 80 ne posseggo una coppia, al momento in riparazione......da un primo ascolto ne ho tratto ottime sensazioni, in linea con le migliori attive grundig, con un basso veramente importante..
